Linux USN.

This is coolbert:

"Don’t think anything could possibly go wrong when a British Trident submarine, fitted with American manufactured (and maintained) nuclear warheads – managed via American manufactured (and maintained) nuclear warheads – managed via American developed software infected with American hacking tools when the red button is pushed? Think again."

That newest American warship DDG 1000 Zumwalt class destroyer not relying on Microsoft product for the Information Technology solution!

NOT using proprietary software but an off-the-shelf and commercially available operating system, Linux Red Hat!

"The Navy’s newest warship is powered by Linux"

The U.S. Navy knows something the Royal Navy [RN] does not?

"The advantage of [using Linux] over operating systems such as Windows is that security flaws are caught before they become an issue for the public. Because Linux does not dominate the market like Windows, there are some disadvantages to using the operating system. ... One main issue with Linux is drivers."

Linux SUPERIOR as compared to Microsoft?

Advantages and disadvantages of Linux as compared to Microsoft disscussed here!

A sampling of Linux advantages to include but hardly limited to:

* "Easy to install applications."
* "Secure."
* "Easy to change options."
* "Community."
* "Free."

Again, the U.S. Navy knows something about software and malware embedded the Royal Navy [RN] does not know?
